2009 Summer Camp Registration Information

The Trinity Brazos Area hosts summer camps in conjunction with the two other areas that share ownership in our church camp, Disciples Crossingin Athens, Texas. There are camp choices for ages 4 and older. Corresponding registration forms will be available beginning March 10 for download by clicking the link on the right.

Listed below are descriptions for the TBA (Trinity Brazos Area) led camps. These are the "sections" of the camps we encourage our youth to primarily attend.  However, there are some camps with several sections of camps.  After each description, there may be alternate dates listed.  This is in case your child is not able to attend the TBA camp, but could attend a camp led by another area.  

Grand Camp, June 6-8

“Grand Camp” comes back to Disciples Crossing in Athens, Texas. Grand Camp will allows grandchildren (ages 4-10) to encounter a Christian Camp experience with their grandparents (a grandparent figure from church or a parent may accompany if a grandparent is unavailable). Grand Camp will include age appropriate activities for children, programming for grandparents/ adults, planned combined activities, free-time recreation and worship opportunities. Each child must be accompanied by an adult participant.Grand Camp Begins on Friday, June 6th at 4:00 pm and will conclude Sunday, June 8th, at 1:30pm.

Discovery Camp II, June 27-29     (Discovery Camp I: May 23-25)

Children that have completed the 2nd and 3rd grades are eligible to attend a weekend of fun learning, swimming, crafts, and energetic games at Discovery Camp. This camp is an amazing experience that is shared with a parent or relative. We hope this early camping experience weekend will strengthen family bonds as well as introduce your child to summer camp. Families will arrive at 7:00pm on Friday, June 27th and depart on Sunday, June 29th, 10:00am.

Junior Youth Fellowship III, July 20-24   (JYF I: June 22-26, JYF II: June 29-July 3)

JYF is for youth who have completed the 4th and 5th grades. Juniors will engage bible stories and faith points through fun arts and crafts, games, swimming, interactive learning stations, and youth centered worship experiences in a camp setting. Registration begins at 10:00am on Monday, July 20st and concludes at 10:00am on Friday July 24th. It is held on the main of Disciples Crossing at Athens, Texas.

Chi- Rho Camp III: June 22-27 (Chi Rho I:June 8-13, Chi Rho II: June 15-22)

If you have not experienced Chi-Rho camp, then you have not had one of the best, most fun and most unique experiences of all the summer camps. Chi Rho Camp is held at the "Creative Camp" of Disciples Crossing, Athens,Texas. Chi-Rho Camp is for youth who have completed the 6th and 7th grades. This week is filled with exciting games, engaging small groups, meaningful worship experiences, great keynotes, and lots of fun. Registration begins at 10:00am on Monday, June 22nd and the camp will conclude at 10:00am Saturday, June 27th.

Eighter' s Youth Conference I, July 12-18 (Eighters II: July 26-Aug. 1)

Eighter's Youth Conference or “Created to Be Me” is for youth who have completed 8th grade. It will be held at Disciples Crossing in Athens, Texas. This week is designed for campers to develop self-esteem and to experience a curriculum of spirituality and sexuality. Parents of enrolled campers will receive more information later from the keynoters outlining each days topic and theme. Campers will arrive at Disciples Crossing on Sunday, July 12th at 3:00pm for registration, and camp concludes at 10:00am on Saturday, July 18th.

Niner's Youth Conference

NYC is designed for youth that have completed the ninth grade. This camp focuses on leadership and spirituality. We’ll look at ways people can continue to strengthen their faith practices and share their gifts/ talents with the church. This special camp, that let’s your class gather for another camp on its own, the year after Eighter’s is quickly becoming one of the favorite camp experiences of youth. It will be held at Disciples Crossing in Athens, Texas on the main side of camp. Registration will begin at 10:00am on Monday, June 29th and conclude at 10:00am on Saturday, July 4th.

TBA CYF Conference

CYF Conference will explore our identity for the week as a continuation of this year’s theme. Do not worry if you have not been to the retreats, we’ll cover everything.. This week will challenge what we let define us, what our identity is, and what our spiritual gifts are. This summer, TBA CYF Conference will have an intense week of learning, playing, worshiping, and having lots of fun! TBA CYF Conference is for youth who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grades. It is held on the main side of Disciples Crossing in Athens, Texas. Registration begins on Monday, June 15th at 10:00am, and the camp will conclude at 10:00am on Saturday, June 20st.

PEER MENTOR & STEWARD APPLICATIONS
Youth who are currently in grades 10-12 have an opportunity to serve as a "junior counselor" at several of the younger aged camps.  This is a great opportunity for developing servant leadership skills.  The application will be available here for download on March 10, for you to complete and return to the area office.
